Martha Lane Fox Visits KWMC

Martha Lane Fox

Martha Lane Fox the newly appointed Digital Inclusion Champion will lead a Govenment Task Force to ensure digital inclusion is at the forefront of everyones thinking. KWMC were delighted to host a visit by her on 31st July where she met and talked with local residents. Discussion covered the ways in which digital media is being used to involve the community in regeneration planning, community content production, how to increase access to digital technologies and the ways in which we support new businesses. Quote of the day came from Mil Lusk community environmentalist ‘If you’d told me 5 years ago that I’d be an advocate for digital media, I wouldn’t have believed you, but … digital media is such a delicious thing. You can just take your phone out and video what you’re doing and put it online.’ Mils website is http://www.green-footprints.org.uk/
