Carbon Makeover campaigners hit the shops

Two young people from Knowle West spent a day campaigning with shopkeepers and interviewing shoppers about their use of plastic bags.
They were asking people's opinions on whether Knowle West should go plastic bag free. The girls want to see an end to shops in Knowle West giving out plastic bags because of littering in the area, and the harm that plastic does to wildlife.
They are working on this campaign in collaboration with three other local residents and the Carbon Makeover team. Two local women are running a weekly sewing circle where they are making re-usable bags from recycled materials such as old duvet covers and pillow cases.
