Carbon Makeover campaigners start sewing circle

Yesterday marks the start of a long campaign to make Knowle West Plastic Bag Free. Two local women, Sue and Erica have started a sewing circle, making cloth shopping bags. In true Carbon Makeover tradition they are using recycled materials to make the bags.

The first session was a lot of fun and proved to be a great bonding session for the Carbon Makeover participants who came along to help out. BBC Radio Bristol joined us and were very excited about the prospect of Knowle West going plastic bag free.

Anyone is welcome to come along and help out, and learn some basic sewing skills. Every Monday 12-3pm St Barnabas Church Daventry Road, and the first Tuesday of every month 6-9pm. Please bring any old material or wool that you have. If you have a sewing machine please bring as well. Contact Misty on 9030444 or email
