Welcome to Knowle West Media Centre
Who are we?
Knowle West Media Centre (KWMC) works with the community to develop the creative, educational and social potential of people within the surrounding area. We produce high-quality film, design and media work, provide exciting experiences for young people and run a diverse programme of arts activities, including exhibitions, events, talks and screenings. We also provide access to project facilities, training and mentoring, as well as managed workspace for local businesses.
What kind of things do we do?
KWMC runs a range of projects and offers services to communities, individuals and businesses in Bristol and beyond:
Artist Justin Quinnell is working in residence with us on a photography project this spring. Pick up a pinhole camera from KWMC from Tuesday 16th March and take part: capture a 3-month exposure in a single photograph.
Talks 2010 - How Contemporary Art Works
This month we're hosting three talks offering a beginner's guide to contemporary art.
Fashionate Fashion Show 2010 - the Youth Events Team recently completed their first production week. Places are still available for KWMC's fashion project for young women.
'Achieving Great Art for Everyone'
Arts Council England have launched a scheme to consult the public about future priorities for the arts. Visit their website to read the consultation document, fill in the questionnaire or contribute to the debate.
